A "simple beach wedding" - ( requested the groom) - was a celebration of uniting two families and two cultures - Bhutanese and American - and a venue of the groom's family summer cottage. The colors of the Bhutanese flag were orange and red and the traditional color of celebration. The groom's brother was an artist and designed all the paper products. The caterer prepared traditional Nepalese dishes along with American cuisine.
Fly fishing in Montana- Bozeman, Montana was the venue for a destination wedding where the father of the groom made individual flies that hung on the water glasses of all the rehearsal guests.
The Ballerina and the Bear in Boston
The bride was a beautiful classical ballerina with wedding dress of tulle, of course, and 8 little flower girls in tulle to match. The groom was better know as a "Bear" (the name self imposed by his 3 other backpacking buddies to describe themselves - "the Bears"). In a fate of irony, the groom found out that the bride's family was also enamored with bears! So a theme of "the Ballerina and the Bear" defined the rehearsal dinner. Bringing tastes of the groom's beloved home state of Michigan to Boston showed up in hometown craft beer, Michigan wine, and a bag of Michigan goodies. Michigan farmer's market Russian sage, pansies, lavender, and babies breath completed the purple theme of the elegant wedding weekend.
